Learn More Easily Understood with Mind Mapping Technique

Jakarta, many students fail to comprehend the lesson material. According to experts it is because students are not taught first how to study. Students should be taught first how to learn so they can understand the lesson.
Due to not knowing the correct way of learning, learning is sometimes a burden for most students. While good grades are needed for students to pass examinations or take a class.
But with the technique of Mind Mapping, learning can be very effective and well targeted. Mind Mapping technique or mind mapping or mind maps can facilitate students to understand more clearly the lesson.
Mind Mapping technique was first dipopuplerkan by a psychologist named Dr. Tony Buzzan in 1970 and became known in Indonesia since the early 1990s.
Mind Mapping technique relies on image and relationship with each other by using pictures, words, numbers, logic and the color becomes a unique way.
Principles of Mind Mapping is a way summarizes all the lessons learned that are not linear (top to bottom) but branched. With the summary it easier for people to memorize and understand.
Starting learning with Mind Mapping, initially by determining a material that will be studied by drawing in the middle of a blank page.
For example, are studying galaxy, write the word galaxy in the midst of here start contrived branches. Branch was the first instance what the galaxy, where the galaxy two branches, three branches are included galaxies.
Then from these branches can grow again the other branches in each branch. For example the first branch of what is a galaxy to grow more branches into what form galaxies. So then with the other branches.
With this in mind the existence of maps students become more easily understand the plot. When there is a test with questions such as what form the galaxy, he will remember the location of the branch where.
So the subject matter such as 20 pages can be summed up in one page of Mind Mapping.
How effective learning with Mind Mapping?
"Mind Mapping is an effective learning techniques, and for people with visual learning style mind mapping then this would be very helpful," said Vitriani Sumarlis, MSI, Psi detikHealth when contacted on Tuesday (04/12/2011).
Vitri said with Mind Mapping complex information generally will be converted into more simple in one page only, so the thinking process becomes more systematic.
Meanwhile, for those who have non-visual learning style, Mind Mapping can still be useful for example by using auditory assistance. Vitri exemplifies one of his students more easily understand the information after being given with the help of Mind Mapping auditory or explanation from the teacher.
"Mind Mapping is also helpful for children who study hard," said Vitri who is also a psychologist at the elementary Pantara Jakarta.
Vitri express this because the Mind Mapping helps a person more easily learn a way to organize all the information it receives to be more concise, and make connections between one information with other information more clearly visible.
For example, someone wants to explain about the food, then he could draw a line to the side to the other lines for fruit and vegetables. Later vegetables subdivided into green leafy vegetables and vegetables are not green.
So if anyone mentions the word apple, grape, kale or spinach, then someone will be more easily categorizes and classifies all the words are common in food.
Mind Mapping Techniques learned can be taught from such children at the elementary school grades 3-4, begin to be introduced but with the help and guidance from the teacher because the child has not been able to create your own.
"It is expected that later if the child enters primary school 4-5 grade kids can create their own mapping, although still in a simple form, because the essence of Mind Mapping is to provide concepts and frame of mind," said Vitri.
In Mind Mapping a general concept or a large derivatives will be developed into a smaller, and for creative people to make it into an attractive form of visualization that make it easier to learn.
Vitri explain the visualization that is formed of Mind Mapping will make someone's imagination becomes more manifest or imaginary which makes it easier to understand and can stimulate one's creativity.
To be more attractive and easier to understand someone should make Mind Mapping from a concept by using multiple colors, making it easier for him to learn a thing by looking at the relationships that are formed from the keyword color and picture.
"Even so every method of learning there are advantages and disadvantages. If the material is about the concept of Mind Mapping is nice, but if not detail matters such as hapalan figures or historical events then Mind Mapping is not very good," he said.
Therefore if you have problems in learning or difficult to understand a concept, there's no harm in trying to do mind mapping (mind map) so that information related to this concept more clearly visible and facilitate the process of understanding.
