The Importance of Learning First Aid for Indonesian People

Jakarta, Indonesia's position on the Ring of Fire at risk of disasters such asearthquakes, tsunamis, floods, forest fires. Unfortunately ordinary people in Indonesiahave never prepared for disasters both natural disasters and disasters caused byman himself.

After a disaster, not only material loss is concerned, but certainly also the lives of thevictims. It must be realized that the handling of the first victims of the disaster is very dependent of the actions of rescuers in the field.

Doctors in hospitals often find victims rescued in a way that is not true that actuallyworsen the condition of the victim. Though the actual number of victims could be saved with simple measures.

Health team must have have a member specifically trained to assist victims ofdisaster. But their arrival takes time. On the other hand, the survivors can actuallyperform first aid as soon as possible before medical teams arrived.

Perhaps this is the reason for every disaster in Indonesia, the victim is always morethan the disaster similar to or greater that occurred in other countries. Becausepeople do not really understand about first aid.

Emergency first aid to not only apply to the disaster. This knowledge is very usefulalso in case of road accidents, the victim sinks, gas stove explosion, friends suddenlyfainted, and so forth.

The problem is the high cost of this kind of training. Though this training is veryimportant to note for the general public. From this it may be advisable for the holding of the basic emergency training to the public.

Emergency training topics have also been designed in such a way that is very easy tounderstand, so to be applied at any appropriate school.
